10 p.m. CDT - While brackets get trashed, the Tide keeps rolling... One of the things that I love about baseball is the pace. And while it is quicker this year for Alabama Baseball, the game still tends to be laid back enough that, as a broadcaster, you can keep one eye on the computer screen to find updates on other games, and rarely miss any action on the diamond. Like most of you, I was keeping tabs on the NCAA Tournament. And like most of you, I picked Kansas on Thursday to cut down the nets when all is said and done. Unlike the rest of you...I wasn't balling up my bracket and throwing it away. But that's only because I didn't fill one out this year. Here's the thing...even though I am obligated to update our listeners on scores of other games, there is nothing more entertaining to me than what is happening on the field at Sewell-Thomas Stadium these days. This Alabama Baseball team is so much fun to watch, with the way they play the game - not to mention the end result in 15 of their 16 games - that it is just a joy to watch. Bama games are played quickly, and extremely well by the Crimson Tide. (Yes, I fully realize by making that statement, I have ensured the fact that Sunday's series finale will last five hours and Alabama will set a school-record with 12 errors.). The Tide's 8-2 victory over Vandy gives Alabama a series victory over the 'Dores, and sets the table for a chance of a sweep on Sunday - if the weather will cooperate. Sunday's game is available on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, beginning at 2. By the way, if there is a weather delay, I will do my best to keep you posted on the status of the game here on my website.
