8:30 p.m. - Good news already this weekend for the Tide... My weekend started off nicely when I got this e-mail from the UA Athletic Media Relations earlier this afternoon: – University of Alabama head men’s basketball coach Anthony Grant announced Friday evening that sophomore forward JaMychal Green has been reinstated to the men’s basketball team. Green will be available to play in Saturday’s contest against Auburn. Green is averaging 14.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season. Honestly, I felt like Alabama would win this game tomorrow anyway. Now, I have even less doubt. Green has not played very against Auburn in three previous meetings. Tomorrow will be different. I think he will respond to his one-game suspension in a big way. Baseball stays perfect...I listened online to Mick Gillispie's call of Bama Baseball tonight in Charleston, SC. I'm not going to kid you, it's strange to hear an Alabama event from home. But with such an early start to Saturday's basketball game, there was no way I could do the opener in Carolina and get back to Tuscaloosa in time for a Noon broadcast the next day. As a fan,, it was great to hear the Tide pick up its seventh win in a row to start the season with a 6-2 victory. The bottom of the order provided a little pop, and four pitchers did a nice job of limiting a good Charleston team to just two runs. You can hear Saturday and Sundays games starting at Noon online at rolltide.com, or in Tuscaloosa only on 790-AM (Saturday) and 95.3 FM (Sunday). Another way you can hear the games, or any baseball, basketball, or football game, is through a new iPhone application called "Bama Mobile". Go to iTunes, and you can download the app for $5.99. This is the official UA Athletic Department app, and it comes complete with schedules, news, and audio/video for all Bama sports. Last chance for great deals from BAMA FEVER.com...My friends at BAMA FEVER have extended their Winter Wear sale this weekend. You can purchase winter gear for 50% off through Sunday night at any of their seven locations around the state, or you can make your purchase online at BAMAFEVER.com. Have a great rest of the weekend, and Roll Tide! |
